Cookies Policy

Below you will find information on how the merXu platform uses cookies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small files installed on the devices of website users (computers, phones, tablets, etc.).

Why does merXu use cookies?

MerXu uses cookies to provide you with a convenient way to use the site and analyse how you use the platform.

In particular to:

  • remember session and authentication data (e.g. so that the user does not have to log on to every sub-page of the portal),
  • memorize settings (e.g. selected language, letter case),
  • analyse performance and safety of the platform (e.g. page loading speed),
  • analyse the way the platform is used (e.g. location of users, time spent on particular sub-pages, most frequent searches),
  • personalise ads.

What types of cookies does merXu use?

The cookies used by merXu can be divided into two types:

  • Session cookies, i.e. files that remain on your device until you log out or turn off your web browser.
  • Permanent cookies, i.e. files that remain on the user's device for a certain period of time or until they are manually deleted.

Not all cookies used by merXu originate from merXu (the so-called own first-party cookies). MerXu also uses third-party cookies, i.e. files from other parties (e.g. Google) - note that such files are often subject to separate rules. You can find the Google Cookies Policy here: https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies?hl=en

Why can merXu use cookies?

The right of merXu to use cookies already installed on your device and to install such files is based on your consent. This consent is granted by the settings of your web browser.

By default, web browsers allow cookies to be placed on the user's device. You can change these settings to block the automatic handling of cookies or to receive information each time a cookie is sent to your device.

You can change the settings or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Information on how to do this in the most popular browsers can be found here:

What about personal data?

Cookies alone do not constitute data allowing for the identification of an individual. Therefore, they are not personal data. However, sometimes the information contained in them, in particular in combination with other data, may be considered personal data. Such data are used by merXu exclusively for the purposes and under the conditions set out in this document and in the privacy policy.
